How far is the villa from the beach?
The closest beach is a 5 minute drive from Villa D'Arcobaleno. Also,
there is a bus stop at the entrance of the I Delfini community.
The bus will make stops in San Nicola and the beach.
Q. How far is the villa from the town?
Villa D'Arcobaleno is 2 kilometers (less than a 10 minutes drive)
from the center of San Nicola Arcella. The town has shops, bars,
restaurants and a post office. The larger town of Scalea is 10 minutes
by car from the villa.
Q. How close is the nearest grocery store?
About 5 minutes drive.
Q. Is there a view of the Mediterranean from
the villa?
There is a limited view of the Mediterranean from the bedroom balcony.
Q. Is the villa quiet?
Yes, the villa is located in a very quiet community, off of the
main road so there is little traffic.
Q. Do I need a car?
Yes. In order to explore Calabria, go to the beaches or restaurants,
you really must have a car.
Q. Can I call home from the villa?
No. We do not provide cell phones or phone cards. There is a pay
phone near the playground in the community.
Q. Where is the villa located in Calabria?
Calabria is the southern most region in Italy. Our town, San Nicola
Arcella, is located at the top of the region, closest to Basilicata.
Q. Can you drive to the villa from Rome?
Yes. It is a 4 ½ to 5 hour drive from Rome to the villa on
the Italian Autostrada. It is a very scenic and direct drive.
Q. How close is the villa to the golf course?
9-hole golf course at the Golf Club San Michele, is 35 minutes south,
located in Cetraro.
Q. Are all of the restaurants expensive?
No, the restaurants have very reasonable prices and excellent food.
Q. Do I need a coat and tie?
No! You would feel awkward wearing one.
Q. Can I get Internet service?
At present, internet service is not available in the villa. If you
would like to send e-mails, we would recommend a visit to Mail Boxes
Etc. in Scalea.

What is the weather like in Calabria during the year?
The summers are normally hot and dry, while the winters are sunny
and mild. Spring and fall are extremely pleasant with plenty of
sunshine and comfortable evenings.
